Andy is the Councillor for the Franklin ward on Auckland Council and chairs the Transport & Infrastructure Delivery Committee as well as the Rural Advisory Panel. In his second term as Councillor, Andy spent 12 years on the Franklin Local Board, most of that time as Chair. Prior to being involved in politics, he was a front line police officer in south Auckland, dairy farmer, restaurateur and involved in emergency management and road safety. So he brings a fair bit of experience to his current role. In his spare time he has been involved in rugby governance and was formerly the ground announcer for the Chiefs super rugby games, Super Smash cricket and is in his 16th year for Counties Manukau rugby. He lives in Drury with his wife in the bush above all the development.
